More About Alpha Phi Chapter
Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Incorporated, Alpha Phi Chapter was proudly chartered on February 27, 1965, in Orlando, Florida, by five visionary, dynamic, and professional women: Pinkie Sanders, Prodell Carson, Amy Filmore, Rosetta Vereen, and Lillie K. Jackson. With a foundation rooted in service, sisterhood, and professional excellence, Alpha Phi Chapter has dedicated nearly six decades to uplifting our community through impactful initiatives and events.
As we celebrate 59 years of service, we honor our legacy through signature events that enrich and inspire. These include the Artist of Tomorrow Showcase and Scholarship Presentations, Luthermae E. Adams Day for youth empowerment, the Legacy of Unique Service, Refinement, and Culture, community health fairs, and our beloved Mother’s Day Brunch. Each event reflects our dedication to creating opportunities, celebrating excellence, and making a meaningful impact.
Our community service initiatives are as diverse as they are impactful. We have provided Pocketbooks Full of Joy to women in need, supported education through the Community Learning Educational Outreach (CLEO) program, and empowered young women with For Our Girls – Pretty Rose Packs. We also serve military families, promote Black-owned businesses, volunteer at voting precincts, and raise awareness for critical health causes through the American Heart Association Heart Walk and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. Additionally, we stand in solidarity with survivors of domestic violence through our work with Harbor House of Central Florida.
Alpha Phi Chapter is more than a chapter – we are a beacon of excellence and service in Orlando. We take pride in being the Always Phenomenal Alpha Phi Chapter, committed to upholding the ideals of Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Incorporated, while continuing to empower and inspire those we serve.
