Yolanda Amos
Delta Delta President
Greetings from
DELTA DELTA CHAPTER
Greetings! I am Yolanda Amos, President of the Delta Delta Chapter of Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Incorporated. I am a proud legacy of this Sorority.
Joining the youth auxiliary in my younger years was only the beginning to having Sisters for Life. I joined this amazing organization in 1980. Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Incorporated was established in 1943 in Detroit, Michigan.
Delta Delta Chapter was organized in 1986 in our beautiful city of Tampa, Florida. Our website will showcase Delta Delta's programs and commitment to serve others and our communities on a national and local level.
More About Delta Delta Chapter
Delta Delta Chapter was chartered October 19, 1986, in Tampa, FL, with the guidance of sorority member, Pinkie W. Sanders, whom at that time was the President of the Alpha Phi Chapter (Orlando, FL) and undxer the leadership of past National President, Willie B. Kennedy, and past Southern Region Director, Rosa Cochran. Delta Delta Chapter unfortunately went inactive in 1992; however, just as a caterpillar transforms into a beautiful butterfly, Delta Delta was reborn on June 9, 2007, once again under the guidance of Pinkie W. Sanders. Delta Delta became an integral part of the South Atlantic Region (established as the 7th Region in 1988). The reactivation ceremony took place at St. John Progressive Missionary Baptist Church (Tampa, FL) with sorority members from the Alpha Phi Chapter (Orlando, FL) and Gamma Delta Chapter (Eatonville, FL) in attendance for this joyous occasion. Since then, Delta Delta has worked hard to maintain a legacy of "Sisterhood" for all Business and Professional Women in the Tampa Bay community. Delta Delta is comprised of UNIQUE professional women from different professions in the Tampa Bay area and has community partnerships with The Tampa Chapter of The Links, Inc., Tampa Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Women's Council of Tampa Bay Area Association of Realtist, Inc., Tampa Organization of Black Affairs, Black Treasurers Investments, Inc., Ridgewood Neighborhood Association, and Chase Bank. The awesome sisters of Delta Delta work together to uplift our local community and our youth. We serve food banks, we serve the unsheltered (homeless), visit nursing homes, provide scholarships, field trips and science fairs for our youth. Other special projects include adopting two schools, adopting a butterfly garden for beautification, and we also stay connected to three women in the military that have been deployed; providing care packages on a monthly basis.
